FIVE Bulldogs’ youngsters have been invited to take part in the first round of trials for the England National Team Programme.

Nathan Mitchell attended the Under-13 training camp at Lea Valley Ice Centre on Thursday, while goaltender Jacob Mardell will be trialling for the Under-14s.

At Under-15 level, forward Danny Harrison and defender Josh Guy will be heading down to Nottingham next week, as will Under-16 and Under-18 captain Daragh Spawforth, who has been invited to trial for a place on the England Under-16 team.

Bulldogs’ head coach Andy Brown said: “It’s great to see our youngsters getting the opportunity to test themselves at a higher level alongisde their peers from other club.

“I’m sure all of them will benefit from the coaching they will receive and will be better for the experience - hopefully they will all be invited back for the next stage but, regardless of that, it is still a great achievement for them to get an invite.

“I know they will all do the club and their families proud.”
