THE Bulldogs are delighted to announce the return of defenceman Joe Howie to the line-up for the 2025-26 season!

Joe first proved a welcome addition to the roster in the 2023-24 season before earning himself a two-way with Widnes Wild last year and playing the majority of his hockey in North One.

But the 21-year-old right-hander is back full-time with the Bulldogs and we are delighted he is back at The Pound - going straight into the line-up for Sunday’s NIHL North Two clash at home to Sheffield Titans.

“I can’t wait to get back on the ice with all the boys,” said Joe. “We have a really strong team this year and I really think we can get some good results and surprise a few people. The team really feels like a family and I’m glad to be part of it for another year.”

Player-coach Dave Williams added: “I am really happy to have Joe back this season. He has spent some time away playing in the league above which has really benefited his game.

“His composure on the puck, strong defensive skills, and ability to carry the puck well means he can make an impact at both ends of the ice. Joe is a great guy to have in the dressing room and will add even more experience to the lineup.”

If you want to sponsor Joe - or ANY of the other Bulldogs' players for the 2025-26 season - email us at bulldogsihc@gmail.com
