Bulldogs and Bradford Ice Arena come together for Blood Cancer UK

Bradford Bulldogs’ latest Charity Game is on Sturday, May 9 (doors, 4pm) and will raise money for Blood Cancer UK a well a help celebrate 60 years of Bradford Ice Arena.

BRADFORD BULLDOGS have teamed up with Bradford Ice Arena to put on a Charity Game at The Pound this Saturday (May 9).

As well as being part of the Arena’s 60th anniversary celebrations which are running all year long, the event - which sees the doors open at 4pm - will raise money for the charity, Blood Cancer UK

The game will be a contest between two teams of former and current Bulldogs. Team White - coached by Glenn Baldwin - will include Leeds Knights’ captain, Kieran Brown, who as captain led Leeds Knights to NIHL National play-off glory last month, as well as Adam Barnes, Jacob Lutwyche and Bobby Streetly, fresh from their treble-winning season at North One’s Blackburn Hawks.

Former Knights’ D-man Lewis Baldwin - now at Billingham Stars - will also be on the same team as his former Bulldogs’ junior team-mates, as will current Bulldogs player-coach Dave Williams and club head coach Andy Brown.

On Team Blue - coached by Charles Dacres - Jordan Griffin will line-up against Knights’ team-mate Brown, while Rhys Edwards and Matty Barlow - now at Deeside Dragons - and James Royds and Matty Cross - also part of Blackburn’s treble-winners - will also lace up.

Connor Medley and Dean Boothroyd are among the other former Bulldogs to line up for Team Blue.

As well as the money raised from ticket sales, there will also be Chuck-a-puck, 50-50 and the chance to buy a game-worn jersey for £50 each - sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The jerseys have been kindly sponsored by Safety Netters UK (SNUK), a Bradford-based firm offering fall arrest safety systems for commercial, industrial and domestic customers across the UK. Their generosity will enable us to ensure that all money raised on the day will go to Blood Cancer UK.

Tickets for the game are priced as followed - Adults: £5; Concessions (OAPs/students): £3; Under-16s: £1 - and can be bought via our Team App site HERE
