Bulldogs duo Jess and Lydia shine for GB Under-18 Women

IMPRESSIVE: GB Under-18 Women’s team pose for a team shot after the Four Nations tournament, with Bulldogs’ Jess Wooding (front row, third left) and Lydia Lywcyhe (front row, fourth left), each playing a big role throughout the event.

BULLDOGS duoe Jess Wooding and Lydia Lutwyche impressed as part of the Great Britain Under-18 Women’s team that finished second in the Four Nations Tournament in Jaca at the weekend.

Coach Sean Alderson’s team lost out to eventual winners Poland 3-0 in their opening game but found their feet thereafter, beating hosts Spain 6-4 and Iceland 5-1 in their final game on Sunday.

It was in the last game where the Bulldogs pair came to the fore, Lydia scoring the third goal, with Jess - named captain for the tournament - bagging an assist in an impressive all-round team performance.

Both will be hoping they have done enough to impress selectors to earn a place in the squad that will contest the World Championships in the Netherlands in January.
