IT IS a case of stepping back in time but still with our sights firmly fixed on the immediate future with our latest signing announcement.

When he retired at the end of the 2023-24 season, he said there was no other club he would play for - and has stayed true to his word!

A big Bulldogs welcome back to Connor Medley who returns for the 2025-26 NIHL North Two campaign.

Prior to stepping away from the game, the right-handed forward scored 72 goals and 91 assists in his 149 Bulldogs appearances.

Now Connor is back and hoping to play his part in driving the Bulldogs to the top end of the standings.

He said: “After retiring at the end of the 2023-2024 season it marked the end of an era as playing hockey for Bradford had been the best years I’d had playing the game.

“After six months off the ice, I decided to give rec hockey a go and after a while I realised I still had more in the tank to give. So I’m back out of retirement and ready to give all I’ve got to help the team get back to top end of the league.

“So I am super-excited to get back to it and I’ll be looking to rack up some good points and use my experience to help some of the younger players on the team.”

Player-coach Dave Williams believes Connor brings much-needed experience to the line-up. He added: “I am really pleased to have Connor return - he brings that experience back to the team, as well as some leadership and composure on the ice.

“Last season we struggled at times to create offense and score goals and I am confident with Connor and the other new signings, we will be more competitive this season.”
