Record-breaking Josh Stockton returns to Bulldogs

WELL, you didn’t think we’d bring one back without the other did you?

We are delighted to be welcoming back Bulldogs’ all-time points-scoring legend Josh Stockton!

Like Connor Medley, Josh ‘retired’ at the end of the 2023-24 season but, having spent some time away from NIHL North Two, feels the time is now right for a comeback.

Josh’s stats alone are amazing, posting 232 goals and 189 assists in just 235 games as a Bulldog.

But it is the return of his leadership and calm, composed authority on the ice that will also be welcomed by everyone at the club.

Josh quipped: “I had a year off, turns out Netflix does not dish out assists, so I’ve decided to get back at it again and I can’t wait to get going again!”

Not surprisingly, after a season struggling for regular goalscoring, Bulldogs’ player-coach Dave Williams is delighted to have his former team-mate back in the line-up for 2025-26.

He said: “What else do I need to say about Josh? His record speaks for itself and a player of his experience will no doubt rub off on the younger players and help drive the team forward.

“Yes, he is a great goalscorer but Josh is also a smart playmaker who creates space and time for others.”
