Josh Stockton steps up to Bulldogs coaching team

The Bulldogs are delighted to welcome back the club record goalscorer and points-scorer Josh Stockton for the 2026-27 - but he will also be part of the coaching team, after being appointed player/assistant-coach.

Josh will use his vast experience to assist player-coach Dave Williams and help develop the players around him on the ice. He is looking forward to his new responsibilities.

“I’m delighted to be joining the coaching team this season,” said Josh.

“Anyone who knows me, knows what this club means to me. Stepping into the role of player-assistant coach gives me the opportunity to help drive the Bulldogs forward, both on and off the ice.

“We’ll work hard, set high standards, play for each other, and build a team that competes every single night.

“I’m excited for the challenge ahead and can’t wait to get started.”

Player-coach Dave Williams said: “Last season showed just how much Josh still had to offer after coming out of retirement.

“Josh is exactly what this team needs on offence. He not only only scores goals, he creates opportunities, leads by example, and makes the players around him better.

“I am excited he will take on a new role this season that will bring even more value to the team. His hockey knowledge and passion for developing players will be invaluable.”
