BULLDOGS’ player-coach Dave Williams has announced his FIFTH name for the 2025-26 NIHL North Two roster - defenceman Kieron Furlong.
It will be a third straight season at The Pound for Kieron, who made the switch to West Yorkshire from Widnes Wild in the summer of 2022.
Last year, Kieron stepped into the shoes of the retireed Dean Boothroyd to become captain for the Bulldogs in what was very much a transitional year.
But, after missing out on the play-offs in 2024-25, the 22-year-old left-hander is determined to help the Bulldogs be part of the post-season picture this time around.
“I'm excited to be back for another year at the Pound,” said Kieron.
“I feel like the changes Dave is implementing for the new season can really help the team focus as a whole unit and prove we can compete in the league this year.
“A play-off spot is a big must for us as we narrowly missed out last season. I believe we have a strong group of players this year and can't wait to see what we can achieve together.”
After securing the signature of Kieron for another season, player-coach Dave said: “Kieron will again bring the experience we need to have a more solid defence this year. He brings a great 2 way game and works hard everytime he is on the ice.
“He carries the puck well and makes good defensive decisions under pressure.”
